Title: iron man Mark
Name: Stefano Farci
Country: United States
Software: After Effects, Houdini, Maya, mental ray, Photoshop, VRay has been a while I didn't post anything in cgsociety...well I had something to do in the meanwhile...basically learning learning learning learning. I moved from Italy to L.A. to study a little bit of 3D. Took a loan and started a new adventure. Anyway. This is a still frame (more a look frame) did during the look dev of this Iron Man mark 10.'s kinda old already this frame. I did this in August 2012 but I recovered it today from my hard drive....And I added too much motion blur.

Here you can find also the link with the full video of Iron Man crashing a wall. I did this project with my best buddy Cenk Cevdet Kilar who was responsible for the effects (smoke, debris, rig, Houdini). I was responsible for design, modeling, texturing, lighting, HDRI....and animation (well...this last one is not so good, I know).

Here is the video (

anyway, dear artists, comments are welcome. And more welcome are critiques. I figured that I never posted this work in cgsociety and here is the best place where to find people who know what they are talking about.

P.S. the "software used" palette, there is no Nuke.

Great job guys. Looks like a lot of hard work.

Would had been nice to see closer shots. Would had been nice if the camera wasn't moving so much. I know it makes it easier to track and place 3D characters on a background plate. There are a lot of metal plates moving inside the body, felt like that was just a bit too over done. Effects were really nice. Debris from the building could use some work. Felt like a simulation. A lot of time waiting on a black screen with no 3D model amazingness. :) But above all that and you already mentioned it was animation. Really needed some solid animation. Everything else I could had dealed with but the animation was something that just kept taking me out.

Still I know how much time and energy it takes to get it to this point so congrats. :)

Whats is mentioned above I would add that camera loosing focus is very annoying, all time time camera get to blur and focus again and again - why ? damaged camera?. Other then that very nice project !

Thanks guys. I agree 100% with what you say. These are the kind of critiques I really appreciate. Straight to the point and really spot on about the problems. Thanks again.
