Well with fusion 4, you don't need to convert them at all.. Cineons open in float space, that allow for whiter than white, and darker than black. You may have to adjust the display look up table to see your image as it is intended. Usually about 1.7 or 1.8. Also use the Normalize Colour button below the display to see the entire range of information without clipping.
Otherwise, the best option (in v3 or earlier) is to import them as 16 bit, with the default settings, and then apply a display look up table (LUT) with a gamma of about 1.7 or 1.8. With this method you will lose any clipped information, so sometimes adjusting the soft clip, or raising and lowering the import settings may be required. Just be sure to enter the exact same settings on the saver for the film out.
