Frontpage quality

Great work, exspecially the eyes rock :buttrock:

Only the corners of the mouth look a bit strange.

Could you post a wireframe pic?

she's looking very nice!!!
he earring, looks like it hanging on the edge of the earlope.
but very nice job

 good job. best model and render.

Hiya! Great image!! No critiques, although i think the girls name is "San" not mononoke. I think mononoke means vengful ghost in japanese. But it gets the point across (as soon as i saw the thread title i clicked it :) )

Very nice! Nothing particular to crit.

12-15-2003, 01:22 PM

Very nice work. She looks fairly real yet retains some of that anime look. The hair and eyes are espeically well done. The body paint material also looks quite nice, as if it is a of a slightly different material than the skin (as it should be).

Good work!

Hi there!

big fan of the anime and what you've made is pretty stunning! Could you post more wires? I'd like to see some close up on the topography of that face. I reckon she should have more hair.

12-15-2003, 04:53 PM
shes beautiful:thumbsup:

i dont care for the hair(looks rather combed/stiff) but still in all thats minor to the modeling and overall feel to this render

excellent work man!

(frontpage stuff,if we can push some of the 2d stuff over outta the way, lol)

12-15-2003, 05:37 PM
great work :applause:

12-15-2003, 05:46 PM
great work

I have only a tiny crit and that is the back of here ear looks a little too gummy

but then again ears are pretty gummy

12-15-2003, 06:24 PM
looks really good(btw excellent movie)...but i think, the nose is a bit too big

12-15-2003, 07:04 PM
This is an excellent piece especially the fire in the eyes she look really compassionate, but then also just for her cause.

Just for those who don't know:
The Girls name is "San" she is known as princess mononoke because she is the adopted daughter of the huge wolf God "Moro".
Mononoke actually means "Beast-spirit" who in miyazaki's original story looks like catbus from "my neighbour totoro" which is one of the best anime movies.

I love the movie but i think maybe you should include the crystal dagger aswell just for the fan-base, or maybe a large wolf?

12-15-2003, 07:11 PM
WOW! I think that is absolutely awesome! It's very inspiring!

12-15-2003, 09:05 PM
Beautiful job.

12-15-2003, 09:16 PM
Lucky you, u've got vray.

That whole unlimited polygons thing is gonna turn some heads.

12-15-2003, 10:29 PM
Stunning portrait ... reminds me on final fantasy. :applause:

Cheers, Daniel

12-16-2003, 01:32 AM
yah thats truly professional looking. it looks like they decided to make a 3d film of it. i really was impressed. did you have any reference for the face?

12-16-2003, 12:05 PM
@nobrain: Yeah I hope they get to this soon, and they get VRay real stable. For the hair I couldnīt use it, because it crashed by the polygon amount :-(

Thanks for the good replies to this pic to everyone.

Simply stunning work. The detail is wonderfull and the compared by comparing it too the character from the movie you only lack the hair. Try and get VRay to render the hair and you have an perfect 3D replica of the character in my opinion.

12-16-2003, 03:22 PM
Great work! The skin shader could be much better with sub-surface scattering, but it's still beatiful. :applause:

Add more hair, she looks like she is going bald which is not very flattering... hehe.

Other than that.. very nice!

12-16-2003, 08:17 PM
Uhhh..............how is this not on the front page yet???

Excellent job all around- texturing is fantastic and the render is beautiful- great! Miyazaki would be pround of you

12-17-2003, 01:08 AM
Nice work, :lightbulb

12-17-2003, 02:19 AM
wow, thats amazing, my only crit is that the nose and lips could use some translucency.

good stuff.

12-17-2003, 08:12 AM
Good. I'd loved the anime. The girls looks fine but she has too much something indianish. Maybe I am wrong, but whe I watched the movie I felt this girl to be more like asian of some sort or something.

12-17-2003, 08:37 AM
i agree with sqwall....

this doesn't remind me of Princess Mononoke at all
