Created and rendered in Cinema8.1 "Weed" was a project that was supposed be done by Halloween...didn't happen.

Mario Bros

Looks very nice, but the tears in the lip look more like flesh/cloth tears to me, perhaps include fibers?

Thanks for the comments and the input so far. I appreciate them very much...

Also, the lighting of the topmost vines does not seem to match the rest of the plant, maybe make them darker

nice image,
my only comment is, what if putting the head a little off the center and making the hands more visible. They're not seen very much even though they are pretty cool.
good job...

Good work. The tongue could use some displacement and not just bump mapping as the edges seem a little too smooth. Maybe put a santa hat on him and he could be a christmas project ;)

heh, the drool and teeth remind me of Aliens.

But I agree with Shaftoe, Weed should star in his own short!:scream:

Again I have to thank you all for the comments and the ideas to make the little 'ol plant better.

Weed was actually based on a sketch I'd made on a napkin. I didn't even think of the Audry2, the plant in Little Shop of Horrors, until I started to submit the image and some of the feedback came through. Sigh...back to the old drawing board I guess.

Darn I was expecting to see "Weed" wink wink, nudge nudge. Nice model, love the clean style.

Clockwork

I've been toying with the idea of creating a nasty bud...we'll have to see. It wouldn't be too tough getting a reference here in BC; Heart of the best Weed country in the world.

Nice but improved lighting will do wonders for this image. It almost looks like the scene has just one light in it....I'd love to see this with radiosity if you got the advanced render module.

I wanted a more harsh out door look...but I understand what you're saying. I may actually try the radiocity vs. the area light to see what the difference would be. I know that when I'd experimented with the radiosity during some tests I ended up with an annoying 'glow' inside of the weed's mouth...hate when that happens...but I may try again using area shadows for my key light and a radiocity setting with the advanced module. Oh, before I forget, there were four light sources used in this image...

Thanks dimitrios_c,

Ron
