I guess that you used polygons ? IS alias studio tools close to maya? Whats the difference? And can u post a real picture of that car please? So i could throw in some suggestions.

I think the model is really good, but the texturing needs alot of work:
- The glass doesn't look real
- the car(paint) itself looks fake too (make it more reflective)
Try to put it in an enviroment and use hdri, that might work...

There is no picture of this Aston, because it doesn't exist really: I made up a car that looked more thoroughbred to me, a mix of the Vanquish DB7 Aston and of the AMV8. Right now, I am doing a realistic integration that I will post very soon, and I think that the headlights and the body will then look more real.

I agree with ik-vleig- great model, but the texture could use some work if you want it to be a little more photorealistic (if that's what you're going for). I am not sure how similar StudioTools is to maya, but if the shading system is somewhat the same then a good method for car paint is to create a ramp shader for reflectivity, create a samplerinfo node for FacingRatio, and attatch this to the ramp's V coord. This simulates the Fresnel effect and makes the surface more reflective the more of an angle it's at.

Thanks for all these encouraging mmessages; I have already sent some images to Aston Martin,and they haven't answered yet; I guess the mail address didn't touch the right persons, and today, if you don't feel concerned, you just throw the mails to the trashbox...Now, as for modeling, I used nurbs. There is no retouching, the images are direct rendering. Actually, for carpaint and glasses, Iam going to use Maya, which will enable me to make renderings on Mental ray in HDRI. Studiotools is the design software of Alias, the maker of Maya. Thanks again for your messages...

buddy thats one helluva car, your model and the actual one. being a fan of astons and jags i can tell you put effort into the body's details. I have to say that the black render is too dark to show all its lovely form, also the beige suits the aston much better.

Could you plz post a screenshot of your scene under AW Studio, just to see how you managed your nurbs surfaces ?

Pour ton information, ce n'est pas du rendu Maya mais un rendu direct Studio sans retouches.. Pour un étudiant de l'ISD, je m'attendais à une critique plus fine... ;-) Mais ne t'inquiète pas, tu verras que Maya fait des rendus bien plus aboutis que mes images postées. :)

Ours bear, don't worry, I'll see you tomorrow in class...Tomorrow, a nice watch in NURBS, you'll have to wait for the renders, I think there are things to improve, even if you 've already done a good job !!!!
Ours ne t'inquiete pas je te vois demain en cours...demain,une jolie montre en NURBS , il faudra attendre pour les rendus, je pense qu'il y a des choses à améliorer, meme si tu as dejà fait du bon boulot !!!
