View Full Version : Graphire 2 or Graphire 3?

I've been looking at getting a wacom and as a starter tablet i was thinking of the graphire...but I can't really see a difference (apart from the pen holder - whoohoo, :bounce: ) so my question is:

What is the difference and what do I get for the extra 30?

With the exception of the larger available sizes and a slightly different mouse, all Graphire 1, 2 and 3 tablets are identical. The same applies for Intuos 1 vs 2.

isn't the 6 x 8 new on the Graphire 3's?

Anyway I just got a 6 x 8 Graphire 3 and love it. Not sure about replacing my mouse though. The first time I used it in photoshop it put a smile on my face.

If your getting the smaller size think it is the same between the 2 and 3 except maybe the colors?

I got an Intuos2 6x8 and instantly fell in love with the thing. I'm really happy that I paid the extra money for the Intuos over the Graphire.

because of its resolution partly... but mainly because it can sense the tilt of your pen. that is just way too cool, I can't imagine trying to paint digitally without it.

oh yeah, and the intuos privlages (ie discounts)

oh and the pen is twice as sensative, and i definitely make use of that

and the extra accesories that you can get for the Intuos

Personaly I own a Intous 2 and have never used another of wacoms line. I would suggest reading up at That should answer some questions for ya.

I have a Graphire 2 that I bought for texture and post painting, and I love it.. having said that, as I have become more familiar with it as a tool, I am aware that a more sensitive version (Intuous) would be better now.
