Well I'm new here, I've been looking around this forum for a while now and there is a lot of impressive stuff here :D
I was working an a little project of my own : a classroom.
It's not nearly as good as what I've seen here but I thought I'd post it so I could get some feedback.
Anyways, here's the pic:
If that doesn't work here's the link:
I'm not too sure about the wall, on the right... I think it's way too bright, and I'm thinking of changing that.
Thanks guys! :D

but the link doesn't work for me!

You may need to copy and paste the URL into the address in IE (or whatever you may be using :p).
I suppose you are going for the surreal look with the desks and chairs only have 2 legs? Cause its looks sorta like they would just fall down :s
I don't think the whiteboard would be reflective enough to be able to see chairs/tables on its surface.
Other than that, nice scene! I like the lighting.

copy pasting the url doesn't work either

Sorry for the big renders....

Right click on the link and click 'copy shortcut'. Then paste into address bar.

Boys , boys, boys, you have to forget about those lazy geocities accounts and their
"Unfortunately, we are unable to process your request at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try again later." messages
Still can't see the image.

GOD!! This geocities CR*P is starting to get on my nerves!! LOL
Anyway ... I have my picture posted on 3D Total so i'll give you guys the link.....
Looks very nice, but also very cold. Maybe you could do something with the lights to make it look warmer.
@ Shotty : if you look very closely, you can see a tube going from the table to the chairs. So they are connected to eachother and won't fall down. I had to look twice also to notice it. You can see it better on the tables more to the right.

the class looks real cool, but the metal on the chairs look like plastic, make some stuff crooked! it's too perfect..
a little chaos and dirt would do no harm to the classroom. :buttrock:
how about changing the position of some chairs and tables so it doesn't all look so perfectly aligned?

nice lighting, but the shadows on the floor seem a little hard... if they are raytraced then you might want to change the light angle( that's what it's called in maya, not sure about other programs- the angle of the shadow's blurred edge) to a higher value.
nice work! keep it up.

I'm working right now on what you guys said..... I'll post an update soon ;)
12-14-2003, 06:28 PM
Well I tried to fix what you guys told me to... I moved the chairs so their not all perfectly aligned, changed the lighting (i think its better now) and added a poster to the bulleting board...
I wanted to put more posters but now I have used up all my materials...
It's a simple question i know but what do you do when you're out of materials...
Do you make the model in a new file and import it with the materials in the scene???
AA is off.... ( didn't want to wait to long)
Here's the link to the pic:

Good work. But maybe you could unstraiten the rows of desk just a bit. They look almost too perfect to be real. Just my opinion.
EDIT: Oops. Sorry about that. I hadn't seen your update until i posted. Yea... looks good. keep it up

Nice work here!
I think that you have to reduse a little the radius of the columns on the back of the chairs!
Keep it up!
