View Full Version : Apple Power Book G4 17 & Maya 5

Hello everybody,
I am planning to buy Apple Power Book G4 17". I am a Maya user and plan to run Maya 5 on it. Please tell me if it would be a good option to go for it. Also does anyone know if we can run Maya Unlimited on the Power Book G4 yet. I am into Character Modeling, Rigging and Character Animation.
Lastly I would like to know if the Maya file created on Mac works on the Windows platform without any problems. Thank You. :wavey:

Unlimited version of Maya isn't available for Mac yet, nor does the company say it will. As far as running Maya Complete on 17" G4 PowerBook, I don't think it will be any problem.

However, for the money you would spend on that 17" powerbook, I would either get me a loaded desktop system or an M60 notebook from Dell. M60 has been receiving pretty good buzz.
