View Full Version : max image file dimensions

A few days ago, I fount a really big texture for earth. It is made of two .tif files of 21.600x21.600 each.
When I tried to marge them in photoshop, I realised that the maximum image file in pixels you can get is 30.000 pixels.
Anyone has an idea why is there such a limit? I know those files are the extreme... but why not?!? :(
Do you know any other program which can handle bigger files?

I asking just by curiosity, cause I believe I am able to render the earth even with two separate files.

you have found NASA as well LOL

In 7 max image size is CS (8) you can go much larger...summat like 300,000x300,000

there are other programs that go larger as well, but their names escape me at the moment. CS is what you want.
