I've been away from cgtalk since probably 2 or 3 years, and I probably didn't hit the "Render" button during the past years, as I switched to a realtime 3D software.
However, recently, I found out that a realtime 3D engine could be used to render a whole "offline" sequence.
I've chosen a topic close to my heart (the Commodore Amiga, back then in later 80's), and took a famous 3D image as a source of inspiration (http://www.interstation3d.com/portfolio/new_gallery/16bit.html).

The modeling of the Amiga was made by a CGTalk fellow (http://hitbit911.cgsociety.org/gallery/695356/), and the Grendizer robot by one of my friends.
So that, I've been able to focus on the lighting (and all the tech stuff as well...)
This sequence was rendered with a game engine (http://www.gamestart3d.com/), without any post process.
Everything in terms of shadows is made with Shadow Maps, with an additionnal pass of SSAO.
The reflexions are pure envmap, I think it's noticeable enough :')
