View Full Version : opening file and memory consumption

Ok, when I open a file from the script editor using

file -o "filename.ext"

it opens the file and as expected allocates some more memory to the maya process.

However, if you keep opening files in this manner (or even through the file menu command) more memory is allocated each time you open a new file.

I'd expect there to be a close or other kind of cleanup command, but can't seem to find one.

So how do you open several files consecutively without eating memory on each file open? It must be possible!
