View Full Version : Industrialdesign student: modeling & rendering

Good evening,

I am an industrialdesign Student from Berlin and I'm looking for a setup, to manage my modeling and rendering tastks. The problem is, that I do not have quiet the experience yet, concerning the right hardware and wether to concentrate on RAM or GPU or CPU.
Working, I use Autodesk Alias Automotive / Design, Keyshot Pro, Cinema 4D, Rhinoceros and V-Ray, Mudbox.

At the moment I'm using a MacBook Pro 13" for my modeling.. it is a great computer but of no use concerning highend rendering and modeling. I thought about buying the iMac 27" with the 3,2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5/8GB RAM/NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX.

My budget is around 2000€ and the current configuration, i figured out today, is as following:
