12 December 2003, 11:22 PM
Very very Photorealistic, simply amazing. A scene of a livingroom with this kind of quality will be superb.

My congrats, you have done a top notch work, very solid.

12 December 2003, 11:28 PM

12 December 2003, 11:38 PM

12 December 2003, 11:45 PM

12 December 2003, 11:46 PM
Damn near photoreal, I agree, very nice job, one crit I would offer, particularily with leather, is to get a little colour into the specular, it can be white if your have a two colour specular, but right now thats the main thig ruining the effect for me is the perfectly white specular. Other then that the model is amazing, and the texture itself very well done. Nice lighting too.

12 December 2003, 11:49 PM
great job, thats pretty real looking to me.

nice texture surface

12 December 2003, 11:54 PM
Great job.

12 December 2003, 11:55 PM
Awesome lighting, texturing and modeling. The background really lets it down tho.

12 December 2003, 11:56 PM
that thing looks comfortable! hehe

12 December 2003, 11:56 PM
Vrey Photorealistic :) man that cool :) VRay rocks
ooh ... and nice modeling

12 December 2003, 12:05 AM
Talk about nice specularity!

12 December 2003, 12:08 AM

This chair looks great, but the other one looks just as good...

12 December 2003, 12:13 AM
it's a chair.... am I missing something? Technically impressive regarding shading. Not front page though, in my opinion.

12 December 2003, 12:37 AM
Yes it is just a chair, but lots of detail that isn't easy to pull of usually, very well lit, and great surfacing. Hence, front page!:)

12 December 2003, 12:38 AM
I agree with sizzlebits, maybe puting the armchair in a nice place...

12 December 2003, 12:47 AM
I agree, it is a very nice chair. I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings.

12 December 2003, 01:39 AM

12 December 2003, 01:43 AM
Great piece of work. I think that the modeling and texturing are just great and definitely worthy of the front page plug. Good stuff.

12 December 2003, 01:56 AM
 :buttrock:

12 December 2003, 02:02 AM
Simply Amazing. Thats all I have to say. :applause: :applause:

12 December 2003, 02:24 AM
if only i was sitting in THAT chair....

12 December 2003, 02:43 AM
wow!! that looks uber real...great work.

12 December 2003, 03:15 AM
Could you post your settings for, or upload the material you used for leather??? I've been trying to do realistic leather in vray for some time now...

Much thanks, and congrats on a spectacular image,

12 December 2003, 04:22 AM
haha, never did i think i would see a chair on the frontpage, but you really pulled it off. I like the texturing of the leather, really nailed it.

12 December 2003, 04:34 AM
Oh ... ah ... .. .
Impressive, awsome ...
These words fit my thoughts on that very well ... but from time to time there is work on this forum here for which you have to invent new words we still do not have ... Ok, just kidding a bit ... but its really impressive !!!
For a moment I really tried to sit down in that chair ... but then I realize I could damage my monitor if I really try !

12 December 2003, 04:38 AM
man very photorealistic....and impressive.... thou little weathering of the arm chair would have been nice...

12 December 2003, 05:09 AM
... little weathering ...

What ... ???
Hey ... This is quality leather ... It's un-"destroyable"! ;)

12 December 2003, 05:10 AM
I used to have a chair like this and it was one of the confiest I had ever sat upon.

I love it! superb job.

12 December 2003, 05:27 AM
It looks so photorealistic!
I admire your modeling skill too!
May you show some thing about your shader settings?
Thanks a lot!

12 December 2003, 10:24 AM

12 December 2003, 10:37 AM

12 December 2003, 10:44 AM

12 December 2003, 11:04 AM

-remek csak igy tovabb foldi!-

12 December 2003, 11:13 AM
gosh... excellet renders!! rendering-engines are getting crazy these days

12 December 2003, 12:00 PM

12 December 2003, 12:18 PM
well... modeling rocks... you have very strong modeling skills...

but in my opinion the leather looks a little bit synthetic... like in a cheap stylized chair...

maybe some real antique chair would be a better reference...

i dunno... it also depends on the leather. can you show the reference you used?

even that, very good job...

12 December 2003, 01:44 PM
hey buddy

thats almost realistic for a moment i just thought i was looking at a pic

12 December 2003, 01:57 PM

12 December 2003, 02:56 PM
4 pages of replies and not one person has said it so I will. Now all you need is a photorealistic morpheus sitting in the chair :)

12 December 2003, 02:57 PM
WOW!!! AWSOME!!!

12 December 2003, 03:05 PM

12 December 2003, 04:49 PM

Thx guys! I post 2 new images. I added carpet in to the scene :)

The shader and render setup will be shown tomorrow...

12 December 2003, 04:57 PM
hehe, yeah... Vray and it's features :)

The carpet is displacement as i'd think. Nice One!
Do the chaos guys a Favor and post it in the Vray Forum.
Cya and keep on Vray!

(i hope it comes for maya soon)

12 December 2003, 05:03 PM
really cool shader!

12 December 2003, 05:05 PM
Excellent images.

But in the second one it seems there's a spot over the armchair that affects the carpet.

12 December 2003, 05:42 PM
Great job on that =)

I also look forward to see the material and scene.
BTW there's another very nice leather material posted in this link in the Vray newsgroup:

PS: Vray rocks!

12 December 2003, 06:31 PM
one thing hit the eye...those "wringles"...i think they look too perfect...too similiar compared for each other....

12 December 2003, 06:39 PM
Wow, gorgeous renders! Me, I never figured out how to do lights and set them up so that the scene looks realistic...always left that for somoene else to do :D. Really inspiring stuff. Great job!

12 December 2003, 06:46 PM
cool pic, with Max ;)

wqit for explantation about the shader , thanks man :buttrock:

12 December 2003, 09:27 PM
Very NICE! Absolutely beautiful. I like to make sure I at least give a little creative crit. It's hard with an image with so much perfection to it. Would be nice to see silver buttons where the dents are in the chair. right now it looks like the buttons are the same texture of the chair. It may be a style choice, but I thik it would make it more visually interesting. Just a thought. That's all I can come up with.

Keep It up!

12 December 2003, 10:02 PM
Sweet!!! very SOFAsticated modeling...

it's quiet hard to pull off the leather look, (i haven't even attempted such a thing) nj

12 December 2003, 10:32 PM
yeees...looking very good! :p

now give us the settings! least for the leather.....

12 December 2003, 12:06 AM

12 December 2003, 06:29 AM
Very nice! The only thing I think it needs is a butt indent!

Great job!

12 December 2003, 07:32 AM
Very believable chair you have there. Good work.

12 December 2003, 03:02 PM
Hááát, most mit mondjak...? Hmmmm

Hi guys. I wonder, how much would cost such high quality model?
p.s. Modeling is great. How long did it take you to model this?

01 January 2004, 11:52 PM
Working on this model was about 3-4 days...
