Hi all,
I am trying to figure out a way to show my HUD in the following format:

Selection:[ button ]

A label on the left and a button on the right. I could use the
headsUpDisplay command for the label on the left, and hudButton
for the button on the right, but not together...

Is the a way to achieve this. What I am hoping to achieve is for example:

Material: [ myBlinnMat ]

By selecting an object, it will display the material of the object as the label
of the button. Hitting the button will then open up Attribute Editor of the

Unfortunately I don't believe this is possible. The hudButton is pretty restrictive in that it only supports a button and a button label.

do you really need the label?

incidentally, what happens if the selection has multiple shaders?
