I've been using G2 and have found it sometimes produces artifacts. Maybe there are other G2 users lurking here who could share their thoughts.

Have you tried contacting Worley for tech support? They would know better then anyone if there was an issue. Hey, and you'll get a free t-shirt if you find a bug. :)

I can't be any help, but I'm curious what G2 even did in that image, i think I actually like the non-G2 render. :shrug:

I see what you mean, looks like a shadow. not knowing anything
about the render engine and such, do you think disabling cast shadow or unseen by rays???? or similar on the little claw parts might do it.

Well I think may be the sub-scattering level is set too strong....

I've seen this effect when just using LW's translucency alone, but not with G2. Very strange. Yeah, I'd say give Worley a shout. Have you posted this over on the Yahoo groups list?
