View Full Version : Texture loss with Decimate-Modifier

Hello everybody,
I have got a quick question: At the moment I have to import textured obj-files and they are huge. So to speed up my work I use (and apply) the Decimate-Modifier. But as soon as I do so, the textures (cycles/nodes) are lost or extremely deformed so the objects appear to be just monochrome. I would really appreciate your help on this!

Yeah you will because decimate collapses the UVW's, it's a destructive process. If you can what you might be able to do to mitigate the problem is split the OBJ into sections and import them one at a time - import a section, save the file, repeat.
