Is there a way to convert an existing texture projection to its equivalent in UV's, in Modeler?

Have you tried using the Texture Guide tool?

I've used that before, but I had something faster and more automatic in mind... run a script, and poof, all the projections are now UV's.

[edit] The application I have in mind is pointcloning an object in Modeler... this auto-converter would allow me to quickly convert an object with projections into UV versions that look identical to the original projections, but can be pointcloned all over the place (with Point Clone Extra, as regular pointclone munges UV's).

They could call it.. Bake UVs.
