View Full Version : Expressions just gone

following the step as picture, you will know what i mean :

first, you create two object: one sphere one box

open the expressions editor as always

key "box_rotate" as the expression name, then select sphere and paste "pSphere1.translateZ" in the expression Input box, what am i doing is make the box rotateX by move the sphere at Z

and then, i try to select the box, you see, the expressions gone, nothing in there

so, by this situation, i always open a notepad as i use expressions editor, every step, I copy the attributes which I want in to notepad, at last, copy all the expressions back to the expressions editor and then key the expression's name, click "Create"

is there any upgrade software can fix it?

I can be wrong, but are you aware that the expression editor by default shows the expressions for the last selected object only?
You can change in the menu the "Select Filter" from "By Object/Attribute Name" to "By Expression Name", and see if your stuff shows up

No, there isn't a software fix available for user error. You'll just have to try to work around the problem by selecting the correct object.

If you select anything before hitting the 'Create' button (whilst not in Filter by Expression mode) then you will lose the contents of your expression window as the UI then refreshes to show expressions attached to the new selection(or attribute). It's just like saving before make changes. See the 'create' button as your 'save' button.

In summary: If you don't click the create button, the expression is not.. created. Nothing to show afterwards.
