View Full Version : Possible to make a command listener?

I wonder if it's possible to construct a listener (or turn on some hidden option in the script editor that I'm unaware of) that will allow me to "see" what is executed when a certain plugin runs?

Thing is I have this plugin that doesn't work for newer versions of Maya, and the source code is unavailable (abandonware and the author can't be found).

(Sometimes these artists can be so naive ... ) ;)

As opposed to scripts such mel and python, where there isn't a real process of compilation (see wiki), and the script is just passed as is (I'm simplifying) to the interpreter for execution (and thus can be peeked by maya script editor), a plugin is a compiled machine code (can't be read by humans), and thus there's not way to reverse it back and peek at its source (except for disassembly - don't ask, impractical).
