Easy question for anyone who is in the game industry. What exactly is considered low poly? A mesh in quads or tris?
Sorry I'm a little confused on this since I see people showing their low polygon character and saying it is under X amount of faces yet one will show a model in tris and someone else will throw in a quad model.
What is the standard to be placed in any game engine? Quads or Tris?

the polygons all get converted to triangles when exporting them in the end. Many people work in quads to get access to nice edgeloop tools. You can also show your model in quads, and count it in triangles. What it all comes down to in the end though, is not polygon counts... it's vertice counts.

So what your sayin is if the required character needs to be 5000 polygons then in the end it must be 5000 tris?
