I am currently building a new duel xeon system and am considering putting win 2003 server on it. My reasoning for this is to create a vpn. I work remotely and would liket to set up this vpn so others can access files when ever they need them, which is often. I was also told that people could log in and work off my system while i watch and assist in certain tasks, which would come in handy for me.
The primary focus of the system is that of a dcc workstation though. Does win 2003 server function well as a server and a workstation. Also is setting up a vpn like this secure? I believe windows offers a 180 day evail copy that I can download which will be the route I go if I decide that is the best route.
Thx
