Just jumped into Soft from Maya for Fx work and have a few question on this basic setup I looking to do.
What I'm looking to do is, emit particles from an object and have them use goals to an other objects. Once the particles collide with the goal objects it dies on contact. As it dies it will then emit a single particle at the point of contact. That particle should come on full and then fade within 5 frames.
I also would like to render them separate.
2 passes: emitter to object and the spawn particles.
I've got most of it working could help with the rest.

Right now I have it killing off and then swapping a new particle type. But because its within the same emitter I can't separate the shader.
