View Full Version : Maya Problem With Normal And Displacement Maps

I've got a model of a Subwoofer and Speaker system that I'm trying to drop down from 8,000 poly's to around 200 but this nasty tearing keep's happening. The high poly is in the distance and low poly is close up. I did this through the transfer maps option.

My plan was to also create another simple box with a high poly version to show you multiple instances of this occurring but it worked fine when i tried it again.

On the original model I changed the texture to the original Lambert, cleaned history, and anything else I could to get it back to default. But this is always the result.

What would cause this to happen?
