View Full Version : replacing normal maps by light maps

I have a situation in a game engine where I can't use neither bump neither normal maps and I am trying to bypass this limitation:
In a situation where the lighting is not changing, all the normal map is doing is darkening and lightening the final result of the shader which is constant regardless of the camera angle because light is not changing. So in theory I could put the "bump" effect in my lightmap and get the depth feel, right?
