im a weapon skinner and i know shit about max. i need some help with rendering

i know how to render the "simple" way with brazil but i would like to know better

here is some of my work :



those r my renders - simply load the maps, put a spot light and hit the render button

it looks nice but the invourment doesnt look real.

here is one of my skins renders by someone eles -


here the ground looks good and realistic

i donno how it was render but it was done with LW.

im sure u can do the same with max

can anyone tell me how to make those cind of renders please?

or it would be better if u can edit the scene and send me:) (like that mp5 - last render)

as i told b4, i know nothing about max so please tell me step by step

Lonewolf i recomend u to use Vray, its a rendering system too much better than brazil. Brazil it´s a huge crap that has a lot publicy by their test!

Blizzard uses Vray. Vray renders a image that brazil makes at 12 mins in 1 min!! with more quality.

There are a lot of techniques of ilumination. if u wanna a "look" with good quality you should include in scene the principal light (white and shadow emiter), secundary light (a dark grey), and an ambient light.

You can also probe to put 6 lights onto the model like a corone of lights and aply them a shadow of 0.4. One of them with 1

Probe to use some colors lights.

Hmmm... where did you hear/read that? If you are thinking about this http://www.chaoticdimension.com/gallery/ then I belive you are wrong. Sort the gallery by product and you will see its shag:hair that Blizzard used that, not vray. If you saw that info somewhere else please do tell :)))


I'm talking a look at your scene with Brazil 0.4.53 now... I will return when I got something.

Back... Just found out that your objects haven't got any of the maps fittet on them. I think at that, so it might take a great deal longer till I got something to show. :/

Blizzard uses Vray because i know and members say to me that they use Vray. that's all.

Another company, from my country, Pyro studios, uses Brazil rendering system. You can see works of my friends at this page for your credibility.

Vray is the fastest and better rendering system actually. And i say that because i have used and i have all this rendering systems...

bmrt, exluna, mental ray, renderman, lightscape, final render, brazil, arnold beta, vray and other i dont remember now

yea i know it but i was trying to figure out how he made the ground bump and the sunlight on the gun so real

dont care really about the depth of field :)

aha, well
the sun like lighting is because of LW GI RENDERER
& about the bump...hmm, it's just a bump! i know no more! :)
hehe, didn't like my render so far?! it's rendered with Brazil
as i mentiond it @ the bottom of the pic!

I stink at fitting these lowpoly models with textures. How did you do ila_solomon? Got any tips on how you fittet the textures on the gun?

i did nothing except rotate the gun horizontaly, place a light &
a camera & make a ground plane material, select brazil & hit
render! :) it's all LõneWõlf™ work to skin...ask him

I feel so stupid now. I imported the model and opened the material editor. Didn't see any with nice textures on them so I didn't think any were there.

Then it suddenly came to me get material from object. Tada. :)

I must have been really tired.
