it was just for fun. i was inspired from the comics "alita", "neon genesis" and from the gamecharacter from " no one lives forever", hope you like the mix.

here is the link for the walkcycle animation (mpg 2MB):

your intentional shinyness is a bit two shiny and distracting for the great character and modeling you have there. Maybe only certain parts of her outfit should be shiny. For instance just the yellow or just the white. Just my opinion though. I can see what you were going for.

Very nice model texturing and expression (although I agree, it is a bit too shiny).

Just one comment, I find the hand very small in comparison with the rest of the body. Aren't they?

11 November 2003, 05:26 PM
yes the hand are bit small, but i think it's also because the gun is small too... i don't know. i'il look on that on my next rendering.

to the shinyness: i don't want it less shinier. the outfit should be a kind of a latex or plastic suit and have to be shiny. but maybe i'll take it overall more down....

thank you

way to go....:wip:

Awesome Raphi:buttrock:

What was she designed for? Is it for a short?

I want to see more!

11 November 2003, 09:19 PM
Not bad, although I don't really like the face for some reason. It might be that the colours clash with the rest... And she's way too shiny :) Can't say I'm too fond of the knee/shin guard things btw, they look too flimsy. Maybe just do kneepads or leave them out altogether. The shoulder guards look better.

Also, that mock-japanese annoys me ;)

this looks real good, its a generic walk cycle but its good.. when can we expect the new animation?

the highlight on the left breast seems very... odd on all the pictures of the front. :surprised

lovely model though :) i like the detail you put into the clothing.

thank you

don't feel obliged to ;)

My personnal concern about shininess is mainly for the face not for the suit. I love this suit ;)

I really like the outfit !!!

nice work!

i really like the texturing and modelling part.i think u should reduce the specular highlights a bit(just an idea)

show us some more:thumbsup:

Nice work :)

It reminds me at the Game "No one Lifes Forever" :D - you know it?

Sorry for my bad english!

11 November 2003, 01:34 PM
thank you guys..

yes, i was inspired by cate archer, she's f*#@ cool.... but i wrote that at the beginning of my thread...
espacially her outfit.
i've done my character just for fun and for studying the skinning tools in xsi. now i wanna make some short sequences with different movements of her. for example i let she floating around the earth, just for watching how it moves a body in space.... :bounce:
i don't know yet.

the knees:
i like the knees and i don't think that they look flimsy, maybe they are made with a super-doper-special-solid-material!!!! hehe....

the shinyness:
i think i'il take the shinyness a bit down in my next renders....
i'il see...;)

thank you again for your c&c's
it's very helpful

cheers

Oh my. I love that body. Very nice indeed.
Maybe it's just me, but I like how it looks like a partial toon shader, but it's 3Dimention aspect shows through. It's inspiring shading. You just gave me a brainstorm of ideas I'd like to try. Thank you.

I can see that you where clearly influenced by GunnM/ALITA for the face..

but mostly the hair, the eyes and the stripes under them.

It looks nice:D

11 November 2003, 02:19 PM
I say Short... Awsome !!! model & shading is perfect, also lightning is awsome. But her eyes is strenght. They are diffrent and don't make with body one person. But this is my opinion, i don't like maga style but i like your artwork .

Generaly Great JOB !!!

11 November 2003, 04:04 PM
Great job!
Her butt is a bit weird though.:buttrock:
Keep up the good work.

11 November 2003, 04:39 PM
i agree with IS...her butt is f*cked up. and her face looks weird too. but since you wanna keep the model the way it is, even though people give you good c&c's then....whatever! :surprised

11 November 2003, 06:38 PM
First off, awesome model and solid animation (i was suprised, most times modelers cant animate).

But if you were doing for latex, you didnt pull it off. Her suit looks more like solid metal/plastic. And the fact that her face is shiny doesnt help much either.

But the model....booooty-licious! I think it looks fine. Its supposed to be stylized, right?

11 November 2003, 05:13 AM
Excellent modeling and style. But for some reason, the style doesn't feel like "manga" as you intended.. It feels more like something you'd see from a French animation than from a Japanese anime. I think it's a combination of problems. I think her eyes are too round(maybe it's her make up?) and the mouth and her expression feels a bit awkward for this kind of manga style. Also that color scheme is definitely Euro. :)
I'm pointing these out only because your character is supposed to be a manga character.

11 November 2003, 06:02 AM
for your modeling and rendering is very nice...but when u said is a Manga Lady, i think those reflection is not too suitable for the rendering...but overall is very nice...

for your walk cycle animation...i think most probably lack out part is her waist and neck motion...add in more motion for that should be perfect....

anyway, you did a excellent job...
