This is a new character im working on, trying to paint (not copy\paste photos) more realistic textures than im used to. Any crits\suggestions\tips in that area? Still a ways to go i think. Some parts are unfinished, or need to be changed (vest texture). Also have to expand the UVs by the neck. The character is 2140 tris, with a 512 body texture and 256 head texture.

I think its looking good. Little bits of stretching that need tweaked a little (pockets on the vest) and the eyes don't look right to me for some reason, maybe a little small. But apart from that, it looks good.

that's top notch work.
the texture size and poly count are pretty low which makes it even more impressive.

Great job!

but for me,i think the model is not good enough,his face inside the mask looks strange...and may be the neck is too fat

Hey thanks guys.

yeah something was definitely strange with the head. I had to step away from the work for a bit to see it. The face was overall too small for the head. Thanks for pointing it out. Most of the texturing is done but i want to adjust a few more things before i put this one to rest. The laces on the boots should come down a little further. Also forgot to mention the gun is a separate texture (64x128) but is included in the polygon count.

really nice job on the texturing man. you seem to be able to create a character mood just from the textures. Nice work for sure!

2K ti's is perfect..

512 is the max texture size... which was used...

if you want to send it to me, i'll make sure it gets to the right people and get this baby some badass animations.

damn, thats cool, should get myself some better models ... my Radeon 9700 needs some exercise and CS just doesn't cut it anymore.

EDIT: THe only thing i can see is that the head looks a little 'thick'.
From the side view. Try to get the corret proportions.
