do you know a way to convert a hair particle system to curves without going through particle -> mesh -> edges to curve?
It looks strange to me that I haven't found anything. The particles are drawn as curves so this should be possible and straightforward, yet the "convert" button in the modifier panel under the particle modifier allows conversion to mesh only.
The problem with the edges to curve is that it is unusable if you have large amount of hairs, which is usually the case with human hair.
The other problem is that child particles aren't exportable from Blender.
My final goal is to render hair as mesh (or directly as curves?) in external renderer (Vray).
