View Full Version : How To Do UV Layouts?

01 January 2012, 05:57 PM

I'm a total noob to Maya, I've got myself into a rut with some coursework which needs to be in on Friday, so I've decided to do what all self-respecting students do in time of need: beg for help on the Internet. :D

I have a model of a person, seperated into several objects on one layer: head, arms, torso, etc. I need to make a UV layout from these in Maya 2012, but I have no idea where to start. Whether I'm supposed to merge them into one object etc. I have no clue.

Hoping someone can give me a hand so I can get this in on time.

I don't want to sound rude but there are hundreds of unwrapping tutorials on YouTube, much easier to learn from that then a typed explanation.

You may keep them apart or together, that's up to you and varies depending on the model.
