View Full Version : Shave and a haircut invisible with mental ray maya 2011

I'm trying to render some deafult Maya fur and Shave fur with Mental ray but i got an annoying issue. I used hair primitives on both hairs, for primary render: rasterizer (rapid motion), no raytracing and deafult lights. Maya deafult fur render pretty good but shave it's invisible. If i switch render to Maya Renderer shave fur appear.
Am i missing something?

Shave Globals also have an option how to render fur. Should be hair primitives.
I don't know if your situation is like the one I had but sometimes I manage to wreck my shave hair inside a scene and it won't render anymore. It's always invisible. What helps is creating a NEW scene and importing the old models...
I'd like to have some info on this, because I read it here at cgtalk from an other user that he had the same issue.

Thanks for answers. I fixed the problem by reinstalling Shave.
