View Full Version : Linux :: Compile plug-ins

11 November 2003, 07:10 PM

I'm using Linux(Redhat7.3) and would like to install a gcc compiler to compile a plug-ins.
Altough I've never compiled before, so I'm not quite sure what I am doing...

Does anybody know a good reference or tutorial for this topic?? Please let me know.

Thank you,

heh, I wish I had a complete answer.. but maybe i can shed some light on it for you.

If you have a make file, this can automate the process (if you ever installed apps from source in linux, other than SRPMS, you should be familiar with make files). I've seen sample makefiles in David Gould's website (they're in the linux companion downloads for his book)... see if you can get one from there and just edit the filenames.

Compiling by hand takes 2 steps. First you have to compile, then link... sorry, I dont have a *nix OS handy to give the commands to you.

Hope this is some help.
