Thats one sweet model. The bottom shot is my favorite.
I just love the helmet and shoulder design. The head reminds me of the hoverbike pilots from Empire Strikes Back.
nice work Dan.

Hell yeah!!! Very nice. I can't wait to see this guy finished. Let me tell you something....the flip top helmut.....thats is one of the coolest things I've seen in a while. I freakin love it. You are gettin more and more lethal with each image that you post...I love it. Keep them comming :)

this is an awesome model Dan ,
what did you model it with , sub-d's?
01-20-2002, 02:46 PM
Very cool. Only thing that bohered me was the way the chest piece iss narrow and then flares out pretty wide at the hips. Maybe when his lower body is done it'll seem to fit better. Nice model, keep it up. :)

Thanks for the support guys, I was going for the iron giant look with the head but I wasn't useing any ref pic's. So I guess it dose look a bit final fantasy ish , but when he's finished he'll look total different.
sheep factory straight poly. I use a fake sub d script allot cleaner then sub d's.

I like it, very nice so far. Add some more detail to the face mask though, somehow it looks a little thin compared to the rest of the armor or suit.
By the way what do you use max maya?
Did you just subd a cube, and totally make this out of 1 peice, or is this model multiple peices put together.

No I'm an old timer with nurbs. I draw the curves in the basic shape and then loft and Clean up the shape. Convert the nurbs to poly and the add detail and model out from there.

wh0 da man ^_^
01-23-2002, 02:36 PM
wicked stuff dan! I like what you did with his foor/boot aparatus. You have a flair for mechanical things. The only thing that bugs me is the front of the helmet, where his mouth is. Just looks a little odd.
I better get my ass in gear and post something up! Can't have you getting all the attention!! JK =)
01-25-2002, 10:58 PM
Damn, awesome work!!!
You used Maya 4 for that? That's it? Very nice!!!
01-26-2002, 04:59 AM
Ya maya 4.01
01-26-2002, 08:18 PM
that model is sick, i love the look of thick rubber, gives it that nice bio-hazardish feel, excellent work
01-27-2002, 04:03 AM
awesome model! I really want to see it textured and finished
01-27-2002, 08:19 AM
I think I remember René Morel saying he worked a few months texturing the soldiers uniforms in Final Fantasy.
Nice work indeed Dixon. Is this where you got your inspiration from?
