Hey guys!

I'm looking for a function that generates the falloff curve in 3Ds Max's soft selection modifier.
It has Radius, Pinch and Bubble parameters.
Could anyone help me please? It's kinda urgent.

Given not everybody uses Max, that Max tends to have very "user friendly" and relatively inaccurate names for things, and that probably more people than not I see on this subforum are from academical or film backgrounds (read: Maya), you just made your question unanswerable by most :)

Post some examples of those what those parameters do to a curve, and specify whether you need a perfect match, an approximation, or just want to implement something for your users that feels similar.

In a pinch, you could take the numerical approach, sample different settings and try and reproduce with a Lagrange or Newton polynomial, but you'd have to watch and filter for Runge's spikes.
