hi guys...i'm a 3d newbie...hmm..and i just wanna ask u guys..what is the differences between U and V...and can u gimmi an example? i'm sorry if my question sounds silly........... but i really want to know about this thing.
and if anybody know / have any tutorials about mapping / texturing , i'm very happy if u can give those .

it's simply a variation on X Y.

what it does is map 3D objects unwrapped flat onto a 2D plane, similarly to the way a map of the world represents a globe but is unwrapped to lay flat.
