View Full Version : Smoke render layer

08 August 2011, 04:27 PM

I'm trying to setup a separate render layer for my smoke and I'm having a bit of a problem I hope someone can help me out with.

I have a transparent tube with a mia_material_x applied, inside the tube I have a fluid (smoke) and some other poly objects. Is it possible to render the smoke separately and still get the depth from the other objects in the tube and the refraction from the tube on the smoke so it doesn't just look like the smoke is on top of the tube? Render times are really high and I would like to have more control over my smoke in comp so any help would be appreciated.
