hy,

i usually render work with polys so i havent got much experience in rendering nurbs.
my problem is i set a surfaces atrributes to show rendertesselation and then i increase the values until a edge of a round hole looks smooth, but when rendered in mental ray the rendered tesselation is lower than in the viewport. is there a global limitation value somewhere ?

Approximations can be assigned through the approximation editor under Windows>Rendering>mental ray if you need more control but I believe you can export Maya triangles.

Also... Don't use advanced tesselation. it doesn't work in mental ray. Use either simple tesselation or approximation as stated above instead.
