Thanx dudes, and yea it's a robot bein' pieced together hanging from close passing zeplin.... I wanted it to be somewhat mysteriouse, I thought it would be pretty self explanatory with the ones in the background hangin.. maybe I went too far

Well, to me, the figures in the distant looked more like large men or ogres rather than robots . . . But I get it. It is a nice piece, nonetheless. I cannot wait tio see more of your work.

Hrrmmm... I never thought things hangin' from zeplins would ever remind people of ogres.. I gotta find a way to remedy this... maybe thin 'em up in the backgroun.. or detail 'em some..
anyways here's another zeplin speed : ) (2 hours)

I actually really dig this one. I like how the zepplin is not in the dead center of the image, moving the focus off center. Nice detailing and lighting. I eny you!

Thanx guys,
Zanith: I'm glad you like the composition, I always try to have something that leads the eye around. It was hard to work a good composition in with mountains, but it was fun
Gremlin: I'm using Painter with a Wacom -- it takes a while to get a hold of (I'm still tryin') , but get a blank page as your scrapbook and keep experementing..
I arrive at most of my texture by simply enlarging a certain brush, I also work on lots of layers with low oppacities.. I think this last one must've been like 35 layers... once I'm done shadowing a layer I move onto the next for another couple minuites.
Both Zeplins in my images were done in marker, scanned in, and set to a layer on multiply so I could color under them... then go in and color the highlights on layers above.

You are completely bonded with that Wacom. Thanks for the technique explanation. These are good. Vincent Price and his zep would approve. (saw an old movie on the TV a few weeks ago but can't remember the title) Good job. Still a student??? Man we're in trouble.

First image is nice and to me at least, very surreal and yellow submarine like. Not too sure why that is in my mind...but ah well.
Gotta love the hardware bonding sessions!
Cheers,
Nathan.
