I love this piece. Excellent use of colours and composition

I don't like the legs and the feet. dunno what you want with that but it doesn't feel right imho. Also a little too much grain I think, screws up details.

Thx :)

Yes, you're right for the feet, the are really ugly  I had short time to do that so some details need more works.

I really like the final rendering and I also like the wires. But together I don't like the way they turned out. It seems like you did all this hard work on the modeling but your hard work doesn't show in the final rendering. The final image could have been produced in 2D rather easily compared to the time you would have spent working in 3D. Perhaps try using the models and use a different rendering style that shows your work a little more..

Great image, though a bit hard to tell what's going on in it..

Judging from your web page, tour comic is going to be phenomenal!

Keep it up!

This is a very beautiful image. I think it's one of the best things I've seen on this site. My only crit would be the feet (but you fixed them already) and maybe there is a little too much grain. These are only minor complaints, overall it's a fabulous piece of work.

Do you by any chance like the work of Jeffrey Jones? The tones and colours in your work really remind me of his work, though he's a painter of course.

Brilliant! Very inspirational.

i can't help but feel like the composition of this beautiful and obviously impressive 3d still is overshadowed by the lack of difference between the father and the boy. when i first loaded the page i had no problem deciding that icarus was in the frame due to the wings, but the boy being held tends to blend into his father, and starts to take on BEING the father. perhaps this is what you want, i just find it quite confusing.

the best way would be to shift some light on the situation in a literal sense and play around with it- of course, if you're happy, it just takes a minute of pondering to really understand what's going on. quite a nice piece.

Ton BD sera fantastique, Lalie!! J'aime beaocoup

good stuff :buttrock:

Hey Lalie. I understand this piece and why you added so much grain. Looks like a painting. Great work. I'd put this on my living room wall in a heartbeat. Way to use LightWave:bowdown:

Please, fix the feet! It looks abnorally elongated! Other than that, very artistic image.

Oh thanks all for those new comments :)

I wont change this illustration at this time but i take good notes for next ones

I add here the text who inspire me when i did research about contest's subject (i did'nt find the original author :hmm:) :

...."The sun began to beat down on the wings of Icarus, and slowly they began to melt. Icarus noticed the wings coming apart, but in his joy kept on beating the wings faster and faster bringing him ever further towards the sun. Soon all the feathers had fallen from the wings of Icarus and the boy plunged down into the Aegean Sea.

Deadalus looked for his son but could see him nowhere. He then looked down at the sea and his heart broke as he saw the feathers of his son's wings floating on the sea. Deadalus dove towards the sea snatching his son's body out of the water but alas it was to late. Deadalus carried the body of his son as both their feet dragged on the sea below, as a result of the great weight now placed on his wings by the two bodies they now supported. Deadalus took the body of his son and buried it on an island called Icaria in his son's memory." ... -unknow author-

thx again all !
