I'm working on a Jellyfish animation for a school assignment and I'm having problems modeling the oral arms (those tentacles under the Jellyfish cap).

The oral arms are like draped frilly cloth, there isn't really any solid form for me to model.
Any bright ideas? Any suggestions would be welcomed as well.
Thank you.

Model them as if they are a solid form, then create a translucent material for it? That might look alright with the right lighting setup. If you have an example photo, you should post it so folks can get a better idea of what you're after.

Hello Zedidcus, thank you for your suggestion. This is my first post in CGSociety, i am pretty sure i attached a reference photo but it didnt show up.

Anyway have a look at this reference image

Then have a look at my Jellyfish

Simulation is done using Ncloth and Hair Curve Dynamics.
The only thing lacking is the aesthetics.

I manage to do the oral arms by creating a pcylinder and transform the component with a random value of 1.0
