CGTalk - override final gather shadow?

I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I have a truck outdoor with final gather on. I then have a directional light from the side to cast a shadow. My problem - I have the final gather shadow where there shouldn't be a shadow. How do I override the final gather shadow (under the truck) only where my directional light source is hitting?
