I know this islate, but i have been so busy i have not had time to play with 8.2 (let alone 8.1)

I love the new navigation controls. This will make workflow sooo much faster and efficient. It also means after working on max all day, I can work in a similar method at home.

good one Maxon

Not similar but IDENTICAL: you just need to customize the buttons in the command manager and voilą, the navigation is the same. Make sure you enable reverse orbit in the general preferences too :)

yeah nice to be consistent from one to the other, Too bad I can't do that same with motionbuiilder whose navigation is seriouly out of whack. C4D navigates very similar to clay for me now and I wouldn't have it any other way, Finally starting to use the wacom with C4D and not get totally frustrated too, nice when using BP.

How's Clay navigation Kai (if it's not under NDA)?

Uhm well it would be under NDA, there are some features in its navigation that I haven't seen in other apps. Basic move scale and rotation (or tumble) work much like many apps, mmb to rotate and then two modifiers for scale and position, so in that sense I've replicated it, but there are other abilities.

ah sorry, i wasn't sure i understood, you gotta pardon me and my english :p

anyway WINDOW - LAYOUT - COMMAND MANAGER - change the shortcuts for the navigation. I hope this helps. The reverse orbit option is in the general preferences.

dont know what mode your in but you can set Motionbuilder to be just like maya, max, and Softimage. In MB5 that is.

I loved it too....

I used the alt + mouse buttons default, similar to other app I use most. I even change 1,2 and 3 to point edges and poly mode, z to undo, Shift z to redo and x to live selection. It rocks....

Love it love it love it.

i still keep holding down spacebar to change view, though :P

i use the mmb to toggle active view (instead of pageup/down)

That is a good idea. I also like to have all my heavily used buttons all on the keypad (I am left-handed), that way I only have short distances to each button.
