When making a seamless tile, is there a quick preview method? For example, in Gimp you used to be able to use a filter that tiles your image a set amount of times so you can see how well it looks.

I use 2 method.
1st one is the classique 1. On Your texture( 128*128 example) define the pattern you want. Then, open a new file much bigger. 1024 by 1024 for example. Now fill the pattern of your texture and You get a nice preview.
2: This is kind of weird but lots of people use it. When You have a tiling texture to see, just set it up to your windows desktop. Then go to the properties and set it at Tiling.... This is a way a like to use when someone send me a texture.

If you want a real quick check if you are tweaking for seamless tiles, you can run Filter>Other>Offset.

for sure work withg the offset to make ur tile work fine...but to try it the best is to make an action and use a bigger image to be colored with the pattern...(the action is intended to quickly make a ne w pattern of the modified tile)
in shop 7 and 8 there is a misterious tiles tools but never tried it
