Hey again,

Here is another for you.

I have this animation of some sort of sea plant...

anyways, i want to end its motion just where I began so that I may cycle it later on in a post prod app.

any ideas? i have tried simple keyframe copying and pasting in the graph editor, but with no luck.

Im sure there is a way, i just need some help ;)

thx

to really cycle them make sure that you copy the first two keyframes to the end. let's say you have a 100 frame anim with each 20 frames a key. copy the key from 0 to 100 and the one from 20 to 80. you may also make sure that the tangent of the first and last keyframe is flat.

should work

svenip,

thx for all the answers you have! however, im not sure i totally understand what you mean by copying from 0 to 100 and copying 20 to 80

sorry for having such a hard time understanding this.

all i need is this plant, in the last frame of hte animation, to look just like the first frame so there is smooth transition in the loop later.

Perhaps I am not using hte correct functions to copy/paste?

thx,
irie

ok , you can do this just in the timeline. go to your first keyframe, right click in the timeline and hit copy. then go to the last frame of your animation , right click and hit paste-paste. now go to the Graph Editor and hit the a key to let maya show them all. select the last and the first key of your anim and hit the third button in the graph editor (looks like a horizontal line with two points). this will flatten your tangents and make sure that you get a smooth transition if you loop.
