Hi,

this is my latest animation of the Ackley from Episode 2. I really like the scary design of this creature.

Modeled and rendered in Maya

So what do you think?

its ok but needs some refining I guess...

first off he's doing the same animation as in the movie which is not too exciting to watch, you should at least have him do something different and breathe some more life into the character.. the head doesnt look as threatening as the rest of the body.. almost looks like the head of an infant ackley.

the animation isnt that bad but it needs to be snappier, the part when he attacks or thretens (you know, the thing with the front legs) looks very floaty and not powerfull at all, the face also needs some more action..

other than that everything else I like, textures, camera movement, effects.. sweet stuff. :)

It IS one of the creatures from E2 :). Great job on the model and animation. Both look superb! How long did it take you to do?

Looks great, especially good job on the environment.

Only thing that really stands out is the creature doesn't seem to fit in perfectly, maybe a more refined texture with more noticable bump maps? The chains aren't acting properly, much to stiff, each link is a possible point of axis, yet it behaves as a rope.

Thank you for your replies so far :D.

Zoomi, i already mentioned that at the beginning of the threat ;)

Matador, i am also not completly happy with the animation. But finally it had to get finished. But ill take your crits into account next time. Thanks so far.

DoctorStopMo, i modeled it about 1 year ago, textured it about half a year ago (maybe 1 1\2 week each) and finally got the time now to animate it for our DemoReel. Rigging, Animating and Creating the environment took about two weeks.
