CGTalk - Room with Table

Hey all I was just curious if anyone knows a really good tutorial about how to make a room with a table in it. I know it sounds stupid but ive spent so much time learning to make models and do other stuff I never tried to make a scene in a room...

I tried to build a box and "shoot" inside it but I cant get the lighting and texturing right. It ends up looking like those $30 cheesball programs they sell at office depot for decorating your house.:thumbsdow
