CGTalk - mental ray does not support paint effects?

View Full Version : mental ray does not support paint effects?

Hey,

i've started working with a script that generates animated cylinders from selected curves.

when i render the result with Maya Software, it looks ok, but with mental ray it shows black.

i saw that it has a paint effects node so i thought that may be the case.. can it?
or perhaps it's something else?

In order to use Paint Effects strokes with mental ray you need to use the Modify Menu > Convert > Paint Effects to Polygons menu item.
