alright, hears the deal

like 2 days ago, maya was workin fine, then, it wouldn't render poly's for some reason, and now it won't render ANYTHING!!

i've reinstalled it, rebooted the computer

i've basically done everything i could thing of, and about to flip out


PLEASE help me, i am so pissed right now

The only thing I can immediately think of is trashing your preferences, but if you already reinstalled the software, then that's probably already happened. Just in case you installed on top of your old installation, you may want to try it again.

Next step would be calling Alias tech support, because that sounds like a very odd problem....

Are you viewing the alpha channel?

You're going to have to provide more information than that.

Did you try deleting your prefs? (reinstalling doesnt overwrite any of your prefs)

Though this is doubtfully the cause, what kind of CPU/videocard are you running?

Does batchrender work? or is it just renderview? Does this happen with hardware/MR/and default?

What is it currently rendering? Is it a black screen? Did you uncheck "Enable default light" and also have no lights in your scene?

i got it back working again

for some reason, everything was rendering black, and not showing any models. i deleted the i deleted my whole maya folder in my documents (after i backed up my scenes) and uninstalled/reinstalled

now it works, but i'd still like to know what happened

IT'S DOING IT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!

could it be that i haven't reinstalled the update to 5.0.1 ?
