View Full Version : Image Transparency
joshbailey 07-12-2011, 10:48 PM I have mapped a psd image with transparent background onto a plane in modo but cannot make just the image show without the rest of the polygon. Also, how can I make just that image act as a luminous light source. Example - I have a boat mapped to a vertical plane but can't get the alpha to work. I have a rippled surface it is sitting on and I want the boat to act as a colored light source with no other lights or environment.

Assign a material to the plane. Add your PSD as an image layer of type "Stencil" above the material. If you're mapping to a plane, make sure to check "Double Sided" on the material.
The material should be luminous.
Activate Global Illumination in the render options and render.
