Character Rig

Finished!!! from the initial concept to the final image i had a great professional satisfaction. It was a long personal project where i tried to focus on learning each step of the process. Started with a 3d sketch in Zbrush and then i decided to go ahead with this character focusing on the visual "Disney Pixar" which is what really inspire me.
The Rigging was made by my friend Alex Angelis.

I'd like to say thank for the people who helped me during the process, specially for my friends at technoimage, Alex Liki, Grant Warwick and Leandro Amaral.
I hope you like it. Peace!

The blend shapes was based in Alan Camilo rigs (http://www.alancamilo.com/). His a experient animator. talking with him i decided to use his technics.
Blend shapes was one of the steps i most enjoyed.

Hi Pedro, I dont quite understand that blendshape image you posted...what does the colourful body symbol represent? I can't find anything which explains Alan Camilo's technique on his website,

and also if you don't mind , could you / or anyone that knows explain how the modelling technique and shading/texturing for the Viking character's eyes? I cant seem to get the same result for my work...thanks !

Hi,
this is really nice Pedro! I admire your works for long time and its clear that you are better and better!

I simply love all aspects of the image...

One small note (I wouldnt call it crit because its more feeling than anything more :bounce: ) I just think that your final render doesnt stand to your gorgeous sketch - not technically (its flawless!) but in terms of performance / acting. The expression on the sketch is simply gorgeous - in your final pic its a bit "calmed down" which is sad!

Anyway, top notch!

Libor

Post Edit: I looked and examined it again and I can name it now. He simply doesnt look drunk as on your sketch (I miss this "story" a lot) and look a bit too neutral. I think its because of his chest / shoulders position (sticking to backward too straight) - he looked much more crouched and leaned toward the table carrying his upper drunk body, and his eyes of course (this one is prettty obvious).

Please dont take it offensive its just my feelings and I respect all aspects of your work which is beautiful!
