View Full Version : Decent entry level PC?
samo8076 07-07-2011, 08:41 AM Hi guys im looking at buying a new pc to help me progress with 3ds Max 2011 and Vray. My current pc struggles to create/render any complex models so i really need a new one.
What do you guys think of this spec to get me going?
AMD Athlon II 250 3.0GHz Processor
4GB 1333Mhz DDR3 RAM
1TB (1000GB) Hard drive
Asrock N68C-S UCC High performance Motherboard
ATI Radeon HD5450 1GB Graphics Card

That's really entry level. Don't see how you want to get ahead with this combo? 4GB? Sounds like if this is already outdated before you put everything together.
How much do you want to spend?

Thanks for the reply...ideally id like to spend as little as possible, that setup is £200 so ideally i could spend up to maybe £250

The second option is much better.

would the second be decent enough for decent modeling/rendering though?

That's a relative thing. What are you using right now that is insufficient?
